1.4529 sawn to your required size delivery directly from stock
The material 1.4529 is a rustproof, super austenitic steel. It is resistant to organic and inorganic acids thanks to the alloy composition. In aggressive media there is good resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting.
Areas of application
The main areas of application for this super austenite are the construction industry, ship-building and use in sea and brackish water. In the chemical industry, for flue gas desulphurization plants, and in the medical industry.

Welding: 1.4529 steel can be welded with all processes (TIG welding; MAG solid wire, ARC welding ). Because this material tends to form hot cracks, caution is advised! It is recommended to use a duplex filler material (for example: 1.4462) Link, which is characterized by good elongation properties. Nickel alloys are also suitable.
Forging: Before forging, the steel should be heated to 1150°C and 1180°C. The forging process takes place at 1180°C to 950°C with subsequent rapid air or water cooling.
Cold forming: Due to the high strain hardening, higher forming forces are required.
Corrosion resistance: The corrosion resistance is increased compared to conventional chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel and there is resistance to intergranular corrosion.
Machining: Machining is difficult due to the high alloy content. High-quality high-speed steel or hard metal should be used.
Heat treatment
The material must be free of impurities before heat treatment.
