AISI 410
Under the standardization AISI 410, we understand the following steel grade in the German material system:
This material can be recognize as well with the following names: X12Cr13, STS410, SUS410, S40310, S41001, SS2302. The AISI 410 is described as stainless, martensitic chrome steel. The chromium content is 11.5 - 13.5%.
The special feature of this material is the good corrosion resistance in relation to moderately aggressive chloride-free media. Optimal for this is a polished surface. In an oxidizing atmosphere, AISI 410 is resistant up to 600 ° C.
Furthermore, the stainless steel 410 has good mechanical properties. Special properties, such as low susceptibility to embrittlement, the possibility of high-gloss polishability and the range of application up to 400 ° C, are characteristics for the AISI 410 material.
The weldability as well as the machinability can be classified as "good". The stainless steel 410 is weldable with all common methods and only slightly susceptible to embrittlement.

Due to the good corrosion resistance of AISI 410, the frequent applications are the pump construction industry and hydraulic engineering. Further areas of application are in the oil industry, mechanical engineering, aviation and for decorative purposes and kitchen equipment.
